Exasol and Bigstep partner to take super fast, flexible data analytics to the next level

The partnership will provide a fast, simple, and truly flexible solution that enables businesses to access fast actionable data insights on a pay-as-you-go basis, without having to invest in additional IT infrastructure – that might otherwise remain dormant.

This could benefit a wide audience including organisations who are in a period of high growth, larger companies that are rolling out new, innovation projects and those needing the flexibility to scale their analytics up or down at certain times of the year – such as retailers on Cyber Monday, or broadcast media during a major sporting event, etc.

While running a high performance analytic database in the cloud has been seen as unviable in the past due to ‘noisy neighbours’, lack of computing power etc. Bigstep’s bare metal cloud has been designed specifically to do this, bringing down the barriers.

Jaco Els, managing director and cofounder of predictive analytics company Cubitic, commented, ‘ExaSolution is at the core of our analytical learning platform at Cubitic. Our deployment on Bigstep has enabled us to launch the business without investing significant amounts in capex or software licenses. Exasol and Bigstep have proven to be an ideal partnership, offering the flexibility to develop a world class analytic capability and scale to meet our customer requirements.’

The partnership involves joint technical investment and development and the collaboration has resulted in a stable, scalable and exceptionally high performing, production ready database on full metal cloud.
