Verne Global has appointed Spencer Lamb as director, responsible for Education, Research, Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical sectors to lead the strategy across marketing, product development, sales and operations.

Spencer draws on more than 15 years of experience in technology services to play a crucial part in the company’s ambition to address challenges in the Education, Research, Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical sectors, in which it already has a significant standing with clients such as the Earlham Institute.

“We are committed to providing 100% sustainable-powered and cost-effective data centre solutions highly optimised for sectors such as Education, Research, Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals,” says Jeff Monroe, CEO of Verne Global.

“This recent appointment will further support our long-term mission to improve data-intensive academic and scientific research.”

Based in Verne Global’s London headquarters, Spencer will bring his long-established data centre industry experience and proven track record to deliver optimised solutions to these sectors.

“As high performance computing becomes more common place, so does the challenge of ensuring renewable, cost effective energy to support it,” said Spencer Lamb, director of Verne Global “My decision to join the company was predicated on this, as we can address and answer these challenges, enabling our customers to focus on their research.”

Prior to joining the Verne Global, Spencer was a founding member of Infinity SDC, providing data centre solutions to the likes of the Francis Crick Institute, Kings College London and the Institute of Cancer Research.
