A hugely popular technology event previously based in Manchester is set to make its debut in the capital on Thursday 16th February, with the industry’s biggest names assembling to shed light on the latest cloud technology.
The free event – Cloud UK Live – at London’s Roof Gardens, brings the UK’s thriving tech sector into global focus, with senior figures from industry giants Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, UKFast and Red Hat offering advice and support to businesses making the move to cloud.
Tech analyst, Gartner predicts that corporate no-cloud policies will be as rare as no-Internet policies by 2020. Cloud UK Live is dedicated to providing advice; ensuring businesses are not left behind by the cloud shift.
The stellar line-up of industry speakers are to be introduced by David Rowan, editor of Wired magazine – the technology and innovation publication that looks ahead at the trends transforming our world. Rowan is set to deliver a talk on how businesses are profiting from digital transformation.
Lawrence Jones (pictured, top), UKFast CEO and a speaker at the event, says: “Cloud is helping people transform their businesses and the event is about putting people in the best possible position to understand if cloud is for them and how they can get the results they need from it.
“New technologies open up incredible opportunities, but companies need an understanding of how cloud can fit into their operations and how it can be of benefit. It’s the same with any project; you have to have the right tools to deliver the job.”
The full line-up includes Alison Vincent, CTO at Cisco; James Akrigg, head of technology for partners at Microsoft; Robbie Jerrom, Cloud Native Apps & DevOps Strategy at VMware; and James Read, EMEA solution architect, Cloud & Service Providers at Red Hat. The hot topics up for discussion are cloud automation, the Internet of Things and cloud analytics.
Lawrence continues: “Bringing these amazing companies together and showcasing our incredible tech community to the world is a fantastic opportunity. Cloud has so much to offer and it’s great to bring these huge players here to demonstrate the potential technology has to revolutionise the way we do business.
“Collaboration is the key to achieving our long term goal of making UK tech the envy of the world. We have some amazing speakers at the event, both from UK firms and from further afield. We’re creating a huge buzz around our country’s tech industry and it’s incredibly exciting.”
