Emerson Network Power wins ‘Datacentre Cooling Product of the Year’ at DCS Awards in Europe, Middle East, Africa

This product enables extended free cooling operation, thus resulting in new levels of efficiencies for small to medium sized data centres and businesses.

Coupled with the Liebert PDX floormounted direct expansion unit, the Liebert EconoPhase module has the ability to transition to a more economical operation – from compressor mode to economiser mode – when the external temperature of a data centre is lower than the internal temperature. This results in significantly improved efficiency which, in turn, leads to substantial cost savings. The system is also capable of achieving partial power usage effectiveness (pPUE) levels as low as 1.05, equating to an annual energy cost reduction of more than €200,000 when compared to a pPUE of 1.3 for a 1MW data centre.

Roberto Felisi, product marketing director for thermal management, Emerson Network Power in EMEA said, ‘This award demonstrates our continued success in delivering leading innovation to our customers. We’ve rigorously tested this product in the US for over four years so it’s fantastic to see its capabilities being recognised to such a high standard also here in Europe. The Liebert PDX with EconoPhase is part of our extensive portfolio and provides our customers with the highest levels of cooling efficiency and substantial cost savings.’
