MET Police Implement Microsoft UK Data Centre

Microsoft has announced that the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has selected Microsoft’s UK data centres to store content from its Evidence.com digital evidence management solution.

As part of the world’s largest rollout of Body-Worn Video (BWV) for frontline officers, all content will be stored on Microsoft’s Azure platform.

The solution, provided by Microsoft partner Axon, ensures that officers can attach cameras to their uniforms, with the capability to record the entire duration of their shift. All recorded content is automatically uploaded to Microsoft’s Azure platform for possible review and use against law breakers once docked.

The video footage will help to better protect officers and citizens, and can also help to reduce the time taken to ensure justice for the victims of crime.
